FAQ
Quote requests — common questions
How quickly do you respond to quote requests?
Standard quote requests receive a response within 24 hours during business days. Complex specifications (made-to-measure doors, large multi-rating orders, or full supply-and-install) may take 2-3 working days while we confirm pricing with our manufacturers and installers. Urgent requests can be flagged and we'll prioritise.
What information do I need to provide for a quote?
For a supply-only quote we need: number of doors, fire rating (FD30 or FD60), door type (internal/external, flush/glazed, single/double), dimensions (or a "made to measure" instruction), material/finish preference, and delivery postcode. For supply-and-install quotes we also need a site survey appointment or the property address with floor plans if available.
Are quotes free?
Yes — supply quotes are free of charge and have no obligation. Supply-and-install quotes for jobs requiring a site survey are also free within 60 miles of our installation base; very distant survey trips may carry a nominal travel charge that's credited back if the job proceeds. Site survey arrangements are confirmed at the quote stage.
Is VAT included in the quote?
All prices on the website are shown ex-VAT. The quote will state the ex-VAT total, the VAT amount, and the inc-VAT total. Standard UK VAT (20%) applies to most fire door supply; some HMO and care-home reduced-rate VAT scenarios may qualify for 5% — talk to your accountant about whether your project qualifies.
How do I pay for my order once the quote is accepted?
Quotes that are accepted are converted to invoices with BACS payment details. We accept BACS bank transfer (preferred for larger orders) and Stripe card payment via the secure payment link sent with the invoice. Payment is required before doors are dispatched; for trade accounts and recurring customers we can offer 30-day terms after the first order.
